A silent film could be a good way to practise writing or speaking about stories using dialogues, narrations, plots, opinions, suggestions...
You can work on the title, make predictions, work on the characters, give one's opinion of the kind of music, choose another ending...

Fiona: the "voki" of my blog...

I think it's a nice and motivating way to introduce and review.
The objective is the students can listen:
- different welcomes, greetings, ways of saying goodbye...
- vocabulary, questions and structures that we are working on
- homework and tasks...
It can be a dynamic tool, because the clothes, the background... can be changed.
